Zac “The Anointed Warrior” Riley was raised in Pueblo Colorado where he grew up hunting, fishing and camping with his family. At a young age Zac started out wrestling and moved on to BJJ where he gained confidence as a grappler in NAGA and Fight to Win tournaments.
At 18 Zac started his MMA career with a bout against Louis Papas from New Mexico. Zac lost his first bout in a split decision brawl. Moving from there Zac took on Toby Lopez at ROF 43 where Zac won by armbar at 1:34 of the first round. Zac continued on his amateur career finishing up with a 7-2 record with 135 lbs. Bantamweight belts from No Mercy and Sparta Combat League.
As a pro Zac has taken on the toughest fighters that Colorado has. Zac started his Pro career with a close fought decision loss to Sid Bice and returned to stop a tough Ben Vonbaur in only 26 seconds of the first round. Zac moved on to lose another close decision to a game Tim Sosa at RFA 18, then moved on to capture the 135 lbs Bantamweight pro strap from Tyson Herrera in a tough scrap at Golden Fights Cage Wars XX finishing Herrera in the second round via triangle submission.
Zac had another setback at NMEF-Annihilation 54 with a loss to Isaac Colon by Decision. Zac then found himself with a record of 2-3 needing some changes to help in his career. Zac dug down and found help from his family and coach Drew Lawrance from Pariah MMA. While out Zac received the call from RFA to fight Shai Lindsay at RFA 31 with only two days’ notice. With that being said Zac shocked the locals by stopping the undefeated prospect Shia Lindsay at 59 seconds of the first round via triangle choke. Since then Zac shocked the MMA world by beating a very tough 6 time UFC vet Hugo “The Wolverine” Viana at RFA 34 by decision with Zac being the underdog at +1000. Zac continues to train hard waiting for the next opportunity to get one step closer to his dream of one day becoming a World champion and the best martial artist he can be.
